Those Awkward Encounters

As the second week of living in the dorms here at the U of A comes to an end, I find myself continuing to wind up in awkward situations. I like to call these "Those Awkward Encounters". At the beginning of the week there was a completely random dude who was using the bathroom in our hall, and was living with one of the females on our floor. I could see it being like a college student but this dude looked to be in his late 30's early 40's. Also this week all of us guys have been dealing with the hair bandit. Some dude, who lives on our floor, doesn't think that her should pickup his hair out of the shower. There are 15 males on our floor and all of us have to share 2, yes 2, showers and frankly none of us want to be walking on someone else's hair. Its un sanitary. Probably the most awkward encounter that I have had so far was when I was doing my Laundry. I went down and put my laundry in the washer, and I knew I had some packages coming in, so i decided to go grab those and take them to my room while my clothes were washing. Im walking with my headphones as thats what you do when you do laundry, and I walk up to my door, put the key in, and begin to open the door, but it wont budge. I take out one of my head phones and all I hear my room mate say is "Come back in like five minutes." I did know that he had a girl friend of his over so he is inclined to do what he wants, but what made it awkward was that I was totally out of it from listening to my music that I just left my packages outside the door and texted him saying "Can you put my boxes in the room." I don't want to be the party foul, and everyone is entitled to do what they want, but me and my room mate definitely need to come up with a safety word to put on our door white board. I expect this not to be the last of the Awkward Encounters, but it sure is a good thing I am an easy going guy. Well until next week, Stay frosty people! -JB
