Alright, I am understand someone coming home at 1am maybe 2am. What i cannot understand is your, EX-Girlfriend/Girl Toy showing up at 3am at our door, knocking like a heard of elephants, wondering if you are "Okay" because she heard that you were sick. I have had my fair share of disturbances, being woken by sirens and people who are actually dying, but never in my life have i been awoken by someone to see if my Room Mate is okay! This has caused me to also think about other things that go on while in college. Lets face it, over 90% of the male population is known to make themselves happy when they are, and are not actively involved with a significant other, and one of the oddest things would be walking in on your room mate wanking off. How do you just forget that, or blow it over? It takes a toll on both people, and one is embarrassed while the other is creeped out. So to stop further occurrences of problems like these, Me and my room mate decided that if we need some "Personal" or "Time" and its a do not disturb moment, put a sticky note on the door, and we both know that we should come back at a later time. Also with us just finishing our roommate agreements, we both said that its okay to do whatever you want to in the room, as long as you give fair warning to the other. I think these are good ground rules, and i hope they stand up to the harsh road ahead. Well hopefully this next week will bring more interesting news, but until then Stay Frost! -JB

The Art of Partying
Now, well into the fourth week of college, everyone is starting to get stressed, Tempers are flying and its but time until its that "Time of The Month" for all the females on my floor, and by then who knows whats going to happen. In the past week I've shed my floaties, jumped in the deep in, and found out that having to take care of drunk people is not for the faint at heart. Now I am no Adam Sandler, Channing Tatum, Chris Hemsworth, or Chris Pine, but when you're at a party, and everyone is a couple drinks in, instantly you become this sex god, and practically ever lady in the place is going after you. This is a little exaggerated, but it serves to prove a point of that if I wanted to I could let loose and not care so much about my image, but all that is ruined when you have to be "In charge." Now what does it mean to be in charge? Well first off you are not the designated drinker, so having a good night and letting go of all cares can be thrown out the window. No my friend, being in charge is like being the DD, designated driver for you uneducated folk, and you are responsible for everyone in you group and making sure that they do not 1. Engage in any activities that they wouldn't do sober, i.e. erotic dancing, making out with the guy you just met, stripping in the middle of the room, and my favorite of all making sure they don't get Knocked Up! 2. You must sure that everyone in your group makes it back to their dorm or apartment safely, and normally this will entail you calling and paying for a cab! 3. You really don't get to hang up the worries of yesterday and let loose, as you are everyone's safety! Now I would go into saying that I'm complaining that this is always how it is, but with the three parties that me and my hall mates have attended so far, two out of the three nights I was "In Charge" and had to deal with... I cant explain it in words. I hope that when this weekend rolls around, maybe they will become less of a, dare I say, light weight and learn to handle their liquor. Who knows that the weekend will bring, but I pray that this time i will be the one having fun! Until next week my friends, Stay Frosty! -JB

Those Awkward Encounters
As the second week of living in the dorms here at the U of A comes to an end, I find myself continuing to wind up in awkward situations. I like to call these "Those Awkward Encounters". At the beginning of the week there was a completely random dude who was using the bathroom in our hall, and was living with one of the females on our floor. I could see it being like a college student but this dude looked to be in his late 30's early 40's. Also this week all of us guys have been dealing with the hair bandit. Some dude, who lives on our floor, doesn't think that her should pickup his hair out of the shower. There are 15 males on our floor and all of us have to share 2, yes 2, showers and frankly none of us want to be walking on someone else's hair. Its un sanitary. Probably the most awkward encounter that I have had so far was when I was doing my Laundry. I went down and put my laundry in the washer, and I knew I had some packages coming in, so i decided to go grab those and take them to my room while my clothes were washing. Im walking with my headphones as thats what you do when you do laundry, and I walk up to my door, put the key in, and begin to open the door, but it wont budge. I take out one of my head phones and all I hear my room mate say is "Come back in like five minutes." I did know that he had a girl friend of his over so he is inclined to do what he wants, but what made it awkward was that I was totally out of it from listening to my music that I just left my packages outside the door and texted him saying "Can you put my boxes in the room." I don't want to be the party foul, and everyone is entitled to do what they want, but me and my room mate definitely need to come up with a safety word to put on our door white board. I expect this not to be the last of the Awkward Encounters, but it sure is a good thing I am an easy going guy. Well until next week, Stay frosty people! -JB

The Red Headed Step Beast
Dive into this new world college is exciting, like riding a new roller coaster for the first time, and as stressful as a mom with ten kids. There is no middle ground, and whats more interesting is you are thrown right into the mix, or as I call it "Baptism by Fire"! I guess I am lucky because I am living in one of nicest and most relaxed dorms on the U of A campus, but its also the downside. Collectively i live with seven hundred and eighteen other people in the same complex, one hundred and seventy people in my building, thirty one people in my hall, and for the first time in my life TWO people in my room. Yay for math! Now, will I know every single one of these individual by the end of the year, thats like asking if pigs can fly. I am glad though that My roommate, or I like to call it sometimes Cellmate, are both from the colorful state of Colorado! Now how this was achieved I have no idea because I was the lazy bum who didn't get phone numbers from anyone I met at orientation and did random roommate search! I am so thankful I did not get the seed of Chuckie or Jabba the Hut! Alright I am not this evil little person, but having to share two hundred square feet is like having to share the same underwear with your red headed step sister, no one wants to do that! Its been a week, and theres fourteen more to go in the semester, and twenty nine more in the year. Stay tuned for the weekly update on living the dorm life. Until next time, Stay Frosty People! -JB
